So… I would like to tell you about the first time, when we were rescued, to get to Sicily, Agrigento. Inside the ship, we were around 3:00 at night, so you could see all the light. It was beautiful, all light, I could see light. I was in such a hurry to get there to see this light, this, this beautiful country that saved us. We arrived around 4:00. The lights were still on, you couldn’t see much. They put us inside the bus, took us to a place. As soon as we got there in the daytime, I could see everything, I didn’t understand, everybody, are we all together or not. I said “maybe we haven’t arrived yet, they will take us to another place”. We are going to be fine here, we are going to see all those things that we used to watch even inside the TV, when we watch movies, all those nice things; like especially to eat, those hamburgers this big! And I was like “ah, as soon as I get out here I’m going to eat”. Yes, but in the end they brought us here in Bologna. Before, they used to tell us “we’ll take you to Milan” because… we knew that name, Rome, and I say “yes, Rome, Rome!”. But we arrived here in Bologna and they put us in the Mattei [reception center].

Allora… vorrei raccontare la prima volta, quando ci hanno salvato, per arrivare in Sicilia, Agrigento. Dentro la nave, eravamo verso le 3:00 di notte, quindi si vedeva tutta la luce, era bellissimo, tutto luce, vedevo luce. Avevo tanta fretta di arrivare per vedere questa luce, questo, questo bel paese che ci ha salvato. Eravamo arrivati verso le 4:00. Ancora le luci erano accese, non si vede tanto. Ci hanno messo dentro il pullman, ci hanno portato in un posto. Appena siamo arrivati, di giorno, vedevo tutto, non ho capito, tutti, siamo tutti insieme o no. Ho detto “forse ancora non siamo arrivati, ci porteranno da un altro posto”. Noi qui ci troveremo bene, vedremo tutte quelle cose che ci guardavamo anche dentro la tv, quando guardiamo dei film, tutte quelle belle cose; tipo soprattutto da mangiare, quegli hamburger grandi così! E dicevo “ah, appena esco qua vado a mangiare”. Eh sì, però alla fine ci hanno portato qua a Bologna. Prima ci dicevano “vi portiamo a Milano” perché… conoscevamo quel nome, Roma, e io dico “sì, Roma, Roma!”. Però siamo arrivati qua a Bologna e ci hanno messo al Mattei.
